IT’S BEGINNING TO LOOK A LOT LIKE CHRISTMAS

Advent calendars for VALORANT and League of Legends

REGIONAL CHRISTMAS CULTURE AND SPIRIT FOR RIOT GAMES SOCIAL

Riot Games, one of the world’s largest game developers, entrusted us with a special task for a special season: to design, execute, and implement an advent calendar on the German Social Media channels of Riot’s brands VALORANT, League of Legends, and League of Legends: Wild Rift.

 

The goal was to engage the community across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook with entertaining, festive content every day in December.

The content before Christmas

Coming up with 72 content ideas for 216 advent calendar content pieces in less than 3 months, designing them and publishing them was quite a ride! We are very proud of the result and the fact that Riot put their full trust in us with this project.

Creating content and generating reach

We delivered an outstanding social media content campaign in time and in budget, while achieving great KPIs and organic reach in the process: 3 million organic reach and an engagement rate of up to 13 % on the engagement-driven posts.

 

But that was not all: On December 24th, Riot wanted to offer their communities extra great content. We designed and implemented three marquee content ideas that were to be distributed right on Christmas Eve. For this, we realized a Wild Rift speed drawing in cooperation with a German young talent illustrator, a League of Legends Christmas story with poems and stories from the community, and a professional voice actor as well as our own VALORANT Christmas song “Snowball fight on Icebox” in which we featured gameplay from players within the community.

 

Oh, and on a side note: We also came up with nine different advent calendar exclusive merch items and produced them as prizes for a total of six big sweepstakes across the social channels of VALORANT, League of Legends, and League of Legends: Wild Rift.
