There are movie franchises, and then there is Star Wars. In pop culture, only a few brands can be compared to the phenomenon that is Star Wars. This sci-fi universe sparks the imagination of millions of fans all around the world – going strong for more than 40 years.
Introducing Star Wars: Battlefront, a fast-paced action game by Electronic Arts set in the Star Wars universe. For the second installment, Star Wars: Battlefront 2, EA was looking for a way to expand the already enormous fan base, involving new types of influencers, and establish the new heroine of Battlefront 2’s single player campaign.
That´s why we approached a leading influencer who made a name for herself in cosplay: Svetlana Quindt aka Kamui Cosplay. We challenged her to create three videos about designing a cosplay costume based on the female protagonist of Star Wars: Battlefront 2. But she delivered much more than that. In addition to the videos, Kamui Cosplay – her social media presence – created more than 80 posts across channels like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter – generating a reach of over 5.6M, significantly expanding EA’s audience.
In this specific case, the Force was unquestionably with us.
